Although I have not talked about traditional telemarketers too much here, I think it’s time to add them to the mix! I’ve been getting what I refer to as “telephone spam” lately, and have talked about that a bit, but so far all the phone spam I have received has been pre-recorded “get rich quick” crap.
Since the middle of last month I have been getting weird calls that show up as "FBK Products” on my caller ID with a phone number of 561-962-0988. Up until today, these calls always seemed like the line was dead. I would say “Hello” a number of times and never get a response.
Today I actually got a live human being on the line, and man was he a piece of work! He was asking for someone specific whom I think once had our phone number. We’ve had the number for about 11 years now, but I still get calls once in a while asking for this particular person. I have no idea who it is or where they are now.
Being a bit suspicious of the call, I tried to brush the guy off, but he would have none of it! When I flat out asked him what he wanted, he cursed at me and hung up! Way to go, FBK! That’s some fine employee you’ve got there!
Someone on another site suggested that these telemarketing places hire a lot of ex-cons. I don’t know if that is true, but this low-life that called me today certainly sounds like the kind of guy who may have done a few years in the old Gray Bar Hotel. Here’s hoping they find a reason to send that loser back!
As always, I did a little research on this “FBK Products” outfit, and I am certainly not alone when it comes to getting hassled be these criminals. I say “criminals” because it is true. I have been on the national “Do Not Call” registry for years, and I never heard of these morons before they started calling me. There is no way I have ever had any kind of contact with them, let alone any kind of business relationship. They are flat-out breaking the law by calling me, and I filed a complaint with both the FCC and the Florida Attorney General’s office right after the call.
I don’t know if the authorities in Florida are toothless or what, but this FBK outfit has been making a lot of telephone calls to people on the “Do Not Call” registry if comments on sites like this are to be believed. I see know reason not to believe them since they are calling my house as well!
These scumbags at FBK are way over the line, and if I was in Florida myself, I’d be paying an in-person visit to the Attorney General’s office myself to voice my complaints. FBK Products certainly does not have a stellar record according to the Florida Better Business Bureau. In fact, they bestowed an “F” rating on the company as a result of the numerous consumer complaints. You know the kind of “F” that makes parents unhappy when it shows up on their child’s report card.
Hey, FCC and Florida authorities: Wake up and do your damn job will you? How much evidence do you need?
By the way, FBK Products has a website at www.fbkproducts.com with their address and telephone numbers if you’d like to give them a call and say “Hello.” Since they seem to enjoy talking on the phone so much, maybe they would like to receive some calls for a change.
Well, I’ve never received one of these before.
